Unrest in Hong Kong

Unrest in Hong Kong

Maha Media 14 August 2019

Although the chief executive of Hong Kong Carrie Lam has already stated that the extradition bill is no longer there, the unprecedented crisis following this bill has reaped up and people from all walks of the life have actively made their presence on the public places including the airports resulting into the cancellation of the regular flights and creating unrest at the airport with the stranded passengers.
The problem erupted miserably after this was brought that the suspects in the city might be shifted to the places where the extradition treaties does not apply.

Consequently, the bill had no go and was therefore cancelled or suspended by the authorities. The public protests further continued on account of the arrests made of these protests.
The pathetic situation is unfortunate and probably could have been dealt better had the initial steps would have been sensible.
The issue now has taken a different direction with the protesters staging dharna by claiming a probe into the reported atrocities of police on protesters they have clarified that now revoking bill or even lam resignation would not be enough.

Protester's objective now is the liberation of Hong Kong and not mere quitting of MS Lam thus a problem which could have been settled amicably is multiplied with the high handedness this appears.
China although has volunteered for the mediation yet the issue got more complex with the protesters and city administrator's peculiar methods of managing the situation.

Had the bill be officially declared repealed, that perhaps might be appropriate and circumstantial solution to the otherwise created problem for which the most practical solution could be to prevail with the sense rather with the unnecessary pressure practice tactics.

China is now holding the responsibilities of the safe and peaceful conduct of changed scenario of Hong Kong ever since Hong Kong is handed to china by British colonialists.

Is not this for the longer and larger interest of the china and independent Hong Kong protesters to amicably look for a solution which has unfortunately paved in with an extradition bill protest?
